Well...this
transfer is half way done...i can not believe that we are already in
week 4!!! It seriously is so crazy! The fact that it's may this week is
even crazier! I remember when it was January! it feels like it was just
yesterday! Time is going by so fast!
Going
to the temple was so great! We went to an English session and it was
really good. Going to the temple was definitely needed for all of us.
It's always really nice to be able to go to the temple. I wish we could
go more often but...it tis what it tis.
Yes
i got the package Thank you so much! When we are at the house i
literally don't let go of the camel. haha i constantly have it with me
and i sleep with it at night...i feel like such a little kid but i love
it so much! and i love the shirt too! Yeah the camel analogy is really
great! I have it on the wall next to my desk. I loved the necklace that
Coley gave to me. I made it into a bracelet and i don't take it off :)
Haha the other day one of the elders asked me why i had a broken heart
on my bracelet and before i could explain one of the elders said "she
got dear john'ed and she's so sad she wears a broken heart on her
wrist." haha he's such a goof ball. I explained that it was a gift from
my little brother.
That's
so awesome that Ava invited her friend! What did her friend think? That
is so good that she wants to help her friend learn more!
This week was pretty good. Some of the highlights were
we
taught the restoration to three of our investigators and they really
liked it. They are really catholic but slowly their hearts
are softening and we are hoping to extend a baptismal invitation
this week. They have a family member who is a member and she comes with
us to ever lesson. The next thing we have to teach them es el evangelio
de jesucristo. We are hoping to really focus on the way Christ
was baptized. 1. old enough to make the decision 2. went to john the
baptist who had the authority 3. he was fully immersed. We are really
excited and we know good things are going to happen with them!
One
of our investigators who is related the the ones above got told that
she might only have a month or two left to live. she has cancer and the
doctor has taken her off chemotherapy we are hoping to be able to help
keep her spirits up. but it's going to be really sad if she passes away
soon.
We
had a really good lesson with a former investigator who Rupp and i
could never get a hold of but we've recently started visiting them again
and are really excited to start teaching them.
We
found this really cute family tracking, the first lesson we taught was
the plan of salvation and we completely bombed it. They even told us at
the end that they were confused. So a few days later when i was on the
exchange with carbajal we retaught the plan of salvation and they were
asking amazing questions like "is the book of mormon like the bible?"
"at what age should you be baptized?" they accepted to be baptized but
we have not put a date on it. We are seeing them in a few days and we
are hoping for good things with this family!
We had interviews on Thursday.
on my nine months! and they went really well. The sisters all got our
own special training on weekly planning. Haha the elders weren't
invited. Interviews were really good i was able to ask for some advice
on how to be a better missionary/trainer. \
So
also on my 9 months besides sending a balloon up i also burned a
skirt...haha i have a skirt and the zipper broke and the elders gave me
one of their lighters and so we went out on our porch and i burned my
skirt and then ripped it! It was pretty funny! I have a video of it!
Can't wait to send it to you!
Went
on a exchange this week and it really was inspired. I went with Hermana
Carbajal who originally was planning on going with Bohn and i would go
with gayler but then she decided that she needed to go with me. It will
be the last exchange i go on with carbajal. It made me a little sad but
it will be ok. But she was able to talk to me a lot about things that
were going on and i was able to seek advice since this is my first time
training. The one thing that has been hard is just when it seems that
everything has to be done perfectly and so I've just been stressed out a
little bit and we haven't had that good of communicating with each
other. But Sunday
night we were talking and the spirit guided it into a conversation
where i was able to express my concerns and tell her the things i needed
to say. Some missionaries just come out here and think they know how to
do everything and don't need to be trained and that was starting the
happen. but we've talked about it and have worked things out. and i felt
so much better. Like a load was lifted off my shoulders. We had ward
conference on Sunday and
that was really good. We had 2 less actives come! One stayed just
for sacrament and then the other one came to all 3 hours for the first
time in a long time!
Last
night we were talking and just laughing sitting on our beds before we
went to sleep and i told her that it was her fault that i was in a trio
in the ccm. we could have been companions if she had come out when she
was supposed to. And then after talking and just laughing about it we
both agreed that we were supposed to be companions now in this time and
that this time will benefit the two of us more here than it would have
if we had been companions in the ccm.
How
are your investigators? They are good. we lost 2 of our 5 bap dates. 1
told us she would never be Mormon because she has a ton of hard feelings
towards people in the church and then the second person moved last
weekend. And then the other family with bap dates are avoiding us but we
are going to go try to see them tonight and see whats up. But we have some really great people that we are working with. Every Saturday night to Sunday
after church we fast and we've seen so many miracles from it. Every
night we write a miracle and put it up on our wall. We've made our own
little miracle wall.
Tell
me about when you felt the spirit the strongest this week. When we were
teaching three of our investigators about the restoration. It went
really good and the spirit was definitely there. We hope that they could
feel it too. It was just a good feeling in my heart that i can't
explain. but i know that it was the spirit.
What
made you laugh this week? haha last night we were both really tired
but also not tired and so we moved our beds out to the living room and
sat on them and just talked and laughed. I don't even remember what we
talked about.
How
were your dinner appointments? They were pretty good...we didn't have
too many this week but we didn't eat any weird food thank goodness. haha
Did
anything totally random happen to you this week? hmmm....i really
can't think of any. The whole week was really good though!
Tell
me about when you felt Heavenly Father’s love this week. Last night
after we got done talking i just felt that i had done what was right and
that things were going to be a lot better. I felt so much better
mentally, spiritually and emotionally. After we finished talking and we
prayed it was all good.
Seriously
Carbajal reminds me of you. when we were waiting at the gas station for
the other hermanas to come i laid my head on her stomach and she played
with my hair and we just talked until they showed up. reminded me of
all the times you and i talk and you play with my hair :)
I
really love being a trainer and being a missionary! Seriously being on
this mission has changed my life and has blessed me in so many ways that
i couldn't have ever imagined. My testimony has grown so much and i am
so grateful for all the experiences good and bad that i have had. From
every experience i have learned something and i have grown from it. I
can never thank God enough or serve him enough to repay him for all that
he has done for me and my family since i have been here on my mission. I
know that this church is true and i know that i am meant to be here at
this time in my life. I am so excited to see what more awaits me here on
this mission and i hope to be able to help other people as i continue
through this mission. I've met so many people who have changed my life
and i am forever grateful for everyone i have met. My heart is just so
full of gratitude and i can't even begin to express the way i feel.
i love you!! I hope you have a great week!!!
