I'm not going to lie.
I seriously have turning so Spanglish it is getting ridiculous. We
were contacting and it's a good thing this person spoke Spanish a
little too, but I said "do you have faith en jesucristo? Haha oh gosh
it was embarrassing. Then at a members house, we were talking and I
said yeah so you can received "aun more bendiciones" I didn't realize
it till my companion started laughing and repeated what I said. Oh
geez I'm going to come home and not know how to speak English.
The first half of the week was a little rough, we didn't get many
lessons. We knocked an entire street one day and not a single person
answered. We talked to one person cause he was outside but he made it
clear he didn't want to talk to us. But on Friday we had district
meeting and we talking a lot about specific prayers. So Hna gayler and
I decided to put it to be test and put on more faith and after we
left, we were knocking some doors and, the next house had people
outside. Now for us sometimes it's really awkward to talk to people if
they are doing things but we didn't let that stop us so we went up and
started talking to these two guys and we basically taught the
restoration in summary form and it went really good! We have been
working on making sure we have faith and that our prayers are
specific. And as we have been doing that we have seen our prayers
answered. Now we knock many be three or four doors and we talk to one
or two people, and get a lesson with at least one of them.
On Saturday haha we learned we can't just ask for someone we can talk
to, but we need to be more specific because we knocked on this door
and a white guy came out and was like "oh geez witnesses" we told him
who we were and he said "now why would you want to be a Mormon" he
told us we are too young to have dugged deep enough into our religion
to really know. The spirit was gone and it was so hard to respond to
things he said. He said a lot of things and it just made me sad
because he is so lost. He needs the truth but he needs to humble
himself first to be able to receive it. I hope one day in this life or
in the next he opens his heart. I'm just so grateful for the gospel
that I have in my life. I have seen so many bless is come from it. I
wouldn't be who I was today woot the gospel. The gospel is everything
to me and I will never deny it or regret serving a mission. I am here
to help others find their way back onto the path. It's not easy but
with God all things are possible. I just want to help everyone I can
and share my testimony with everyone. The gospel means so much to me.
I know it's true, I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints is the only true church on the face of the earth. It is the
only church with all the doctrine of Christ. It even had the exact
foundation that christs church had when he was on the earth. Apostles
and prophets. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is
the word of God. I know that it is here to help support the bible and
give us more understanding of the works of God. I don't know
everything and I may only be 20 years old but I know what I know. I
have a testimony of these things.
Saturday we went contacting at the pulga and I bought a Honduras
jersey :) it's awesome and it was a really cheap one that was on sale
for $5. The pulga is so cool! We talked to a couple people. Saturday
after the baptism by the time we got back into our area it was almost
9 so we went home and planned. After we planned we were so tired so we
ended up being asleep by 9:30 it was so good.
On Sunday we had church. I got to play in the primary and will
probably play with the primary every week. Primary kids are so crazy
haha! I was ducking behind the piano laughing. We had the Spanish ward
first and he. We stayed for the sacrament meeting of the English ward
and then we left and went contacting. We had to come back for
correlation with the English ward and en we headed to the fireside
that was up in the woodlands. It was almost an hour drive. Gayler and
I were screaming in the car as we drove past al, the places we went in
our baby area. Ahhhhh I was so happy!! The fireside was really good. I
haven't been to an English one in so long! The testimonies were super
powerful and so were the musical numbers. I played for Hna sumsion and
Jorgesen. We found a medley of be thou my vision and I stand all
amazed. My legs were shaking so bad!! It was ridiculous!! President
Mortensen's daughter just returned from her mission. It's so weird!
Because she had barely been out when I got to the mission. It's so
crazy how fast time is going!
Monday was amazing! We had the conference with Elder Packer and his
wife. I love conferences but they just make you so exhausted by the
end. We had to be there at 8:30 and we left at 3:00. It was so good.
We talked about so many different things. I learned a lot. I'm so
grateful that we get to listen to general authorities speak. They are
filled with the spirit and the power of God. Monday night we visited a
less active and she ended up feeding us and the A half hour later
after we finished eating we went to our actually dinner appointment.
The less active we went to visit was really grateful for our visit and
that we spent time with her. So I mean in the end it was good.
I have one request for Christmas. Please nobody send me a ton of
sweets.....I already eat a lot and don't want to come home looking
like a blob for my moms wedding.
Today we are going down town!! I'm so excited!!
Thanksgiving is coming up! I remember being with Hna Carbajal last
thanksgiving and all the videos we made after every meal. So far we
just have one person on our food calendar so hopefully we don't get
too many more.
Anyways! I love you all and I hope you have a great week!!
It's starting to get colder! = tights and sweaters :)
