Week 3--Nurse Shalyn

Hola! I found out how to make my font blue :) (but her mom has changed it back to white because the blue was too hard to read against the red background.)

Anyways before i talk about this weekend i´ll just share what happened during the week.

This week we did a lot of different practice teachings with other people in our zone and some people we didn´t know. When i was teaching this one girl i asked her at the end how i could improve my teaching and she told me to not doubt myself because i know what i am talking about. I am so thankful for that advice. Sometimes it´s really frustrating talking in Spanish because i can´t say everything i want to say because i don´t know the words for it. But i´ll get there. Also instead of talking in complicated english anything i want to say i have to say it in simple spanish. It´s different but it will get better. I can already see how much i have improved since my first time teaching.

Friday night it started raining really hard. When we left our clase at 9:30 we decided to go say hi to our teacher Hermano alverez. We sang a bunch of english hymns and childrens hymns as we walked to the reception desk where he would be working till 10. He is the greatest teacher. when we came up and said hi he wouldn´t stop smiling. he was so happy to see us.

one of the days when we went to work on on the spin bikes we ran into our elders who were sitting outside la tienda (the store) eating candy. It was really funny i wish i could have had my camera with me.

So Saturday...thats where the fun began...from the moment the alarm went off i knew something was wrong with hermana woodard because she didn´t get up to turn it off. We found out around 7 that she had been up all night with stomach issues. We convinced her that we should call the doctor so hermana haslam and i went into the area with a phone and called the doctor, told her the symptoms and then went back into our room. When we walked in hermana woodard was laying on the ground. She had felt so weak that she just had to lay down and she said that she had a temperature of 101. She got up and she was really pale so we got her back into bed. Around 740 the nurse came and hermana halsam and i left to go get breakfast and to find the other sisters in our district. It took a while to find them because we could not find them anywhere. We found the elders at the class room and we had to tell them why there was only two of us. Elder hickman (bless his heart) said ¨lets go give her a blessing right now! ¨we then had to explain that she didn´t want one but we would try to talk to her about it later. he then said, "Well we will just go over and said that we felt the spirit tell us we needed to visit her.¨  He is so sweet. We still had to find the other hermanas and  Elder hickamn told us they were in casa 48 but when we knocked on it we heard guys and then the next 5 doors were all guys finally in casa 43 we found them. We did switch offs throughout the day. Haslam went to class first and i stayed with hermana woodard. I was able to talk to her about priesthood blessings and she agreed to one. (the next day she didn´t even remember talking to me about them) But we switched off after lunch and i went to class and asked the guys to give her a blessing. They said they would do it after lunch. We found out that it was Hermano Daniel´s last time teaching us because he is going back to school. After dinner she got a blessing and i stayed with her the rest of the night and studied while haslam went to Tall and language study. There were so many missionaries getting sick. On sunday Hermana haslam went to relief society and when she came back she was feeling really sick. She took a nap and i went to sacrament meeting and played the piano for her. Of course the last song was one i have never played before! The light divine. Oh well i gave it my best shot. Long story short haslam and woodard both were sick and still are kind of sick. I´ve brought them a lot of their meals, gotten them water, I´ve let them lean on me when they walk because they were really weak. they both received blessings. Today they are doing better but still weak and dizzy once in a while. They keep taking naps which i am so grateful for. They  need to get better. so far i haven´t gotten sick. The past two nights i probably got 6 hours of sleep combined just because i couldn´t sleep but i´ve been fine other than that.  Our district leader Elder Riding was the worst case out of all the missionaries he threw up so many times, he´s gotten 5 shots so far and still has a few more, he´s gone through 3 iv bags. He is up and about today but man he looks like he has been hit by a truck. So glad everyone is getting better. It´s been kind of hard not being able to go to both the classes but hopefully tomorrow.  I have had so much time to study and a lot of alone time ( because one would be at class and one has been asleep)

Anyways yeah that´s been my weekend. Taking care of my companions.

Can´t believe we are already 1/2 through our time here at the CCM!! I love it here!
